“Agua,” is first fresh PFP’s song in 26 years. The track features the band’s original lineup, which, in addition to singer Perry Farrell, includes drummer Stephen Perkins, guitarist Peter DiStefano, and bassist Martyn LeNoble. In a statement, Porno for Pyros says that “Agua” was inspired by their inspired close encounters with dolphins and reflects their contemporary environmental concerns. “Now we’re here, and that same heart, that same desire to make music together, has returned,” Farrell says. “Getting together with these guys has been some of the most fun, the happiest times in my life”.
“Agua,” meanwhile, is the first single off an upcoming Porno for Pyros EP, due out in 2024.
As such, Porno for Pyros have teamed with the Surfrider Foundation, which advocates for protecting the oceans, for the “Agua” release. “The people who live here on the West Coast have a beautiful love and passion for the Pacific Ocean,” Farrell said in a statement.
“Agua” marks the first new Porno for Pyros song since their “Hard Charger” appeared on the soundtrack to Howard Stern’s Private Parts. It’s also the first preview of the band’s third album and long-awaited follow-up to 1996’s Good God’s Urge.
